July 1999 How to Use the Super Slide Step 1 – Roll the patient on his/her side. Place the transfer gurney portion of the SuperSlide next to the patient’s back. Step 2 – Position the patient on the transfer gurney portion of the SuperSlide. Extend the transfer slide in the direction of the transfer. Step 3 – Grasp hold of the handles on the tranfer gurney portion of the SuperSlide and begin the transfer by pulling the patient in the desired direction. The smooth inner surface of the transfer slide makes the transfer easy while reducing strain on the caregiver’s back. For heavy patients, two caregivers may be needed to complete the transfer.
